Health & Safety
Safe & Secure Campus
Students reside on the Pepperdine University campus, a safe, gated environment with 24/7 campus security. Overnight safety is further supported by our dedicated security team assigned exclusively to the Academy.
Supervision & Support
Experienced camp counselors live alongside students in the residence halls, providing day-to-day supervision, mentorship, and a trusted point of contact for students.
Trained & Screened Staff
Every staff member undergoes a comprehensive background check and specialized training in student safety, supervision, and emergency procedures. With an industry-leading 1:6 staff-to-student ratio, students are well supported, guided, and monitored.
Health & Wellness Oversight
An on-site Health Supervisor is available throughout the program to monitor student wellness, respond to medical needs, and coordinate care with local providers if necessary. All operations comply with applicable health and county summer camp regulations.
Safe & Reliable Transportation
All off-campus travel is conducted by licensed and registered charter transportation providers, ensuring safe and reliable transit to hotel site visits and cultural excursions.
Emergency Preparedness
The Academy maintains comprehensive emergency response plans, with staff trained in first aid, CPR, and crisis protocols. Families are promptly notified in the event of any health or safety concern.
Communication & Family Updates
Parents receive clear contact information for program leadership and may reach staff at any time. Regular updates provide peace of mind while students are away from home.
Housing & Campus Life
Residence Hall Security
Students live in Pepperdine University’s residence halls, which feature key-card access and 24/7 campus safety patrols. A dedicated security member assigned to the Academy patrols the interior halls each night, ensuring a safe and closely monitored environment.
Roommate Assignments
Students are paired with one peer of the same gender. Assignments are made thoughtfully to encourage new friendships, collaboration, and shared responsibility during the program. A limited number of single-student dormitories are available for additional cost.
Accommodations
Residence halls are furnished with beds, desks, dressers, and linens. Common spaces provide areas for socializing and group study, while staff members reside in the halls to support and supervise students.
Dining Hall & Dietary Restrictions
Meals are provided in Pepperdine’s dining facilities or at hosted site visit hotels, offering a variety of balanced, healthy options. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-sensitive meals are available to meet individual dietary needs.
Airport Transportation
Airport transfers are included in the program. Upon landing, students are greeted at the arrivals hall by a clearly marked staff member, who escorts them to charter transportation for transfer to Pepperdine’s campus. At the conclusion of the program, students are dropped off at their airline’s departure terminal for check-in. Local families may also drop off and pick up students directly at the Pepperdine campus
Code of Conduct
Students and parents sign and agree to clear standards of behavior designed to ensure a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment. Expectations cover appropriate conduct, attire, curfews, use of technology, and substance-free living. Violations are addressed promptly by Academy staff.
